Pretty scary, but I just found this site through a link on Facebook. It's called Yearbook Yourself
. You upload a pic and it puts your face into some scary head from the past! Here's me in 1986.

Or rather, most of the boats never showed up.
Last February I was lamenting the failure to enhance the recreation opportunity represented in the spillway at Lake Norrel and the river downstream.
My post from back then …
In my opinion we are failing to maximize the recreation value of this stream. It's use falls mainly in the spring and fall because the recreation is highly dependent on the stream flow. We have the ability to enhance the flow and we should be… Continue

Hubby and I have found what is sure to become another fave: Copeland's at Shackleford Crossing on Shackleford Road in Little Rock.
Awesome menu, great atmosphere and friendly staff.
I highly recommend: Eggplant Pirogue, Crabcakes and Shrimp Alfredo, and the Shrimp Ducky.
The desserts.... oh my!!! They've got this sponge-cake-cheesecake thing called "Cheesecake Napoleon" that you can choose a topping for and is awesome with the bananas foster topping... Great… Continue

Can someone please explain to me why it takes 2 to 6 hours to get someone released at this jail?? There are no other jails around this state that takes this long to get someone out on a bail bond, or bond, signature bond or last but not least a sheriff bond.
Pulaski County can take a couple hours sometimes and thats with the jailers having to walk a long ways to the pods to get the inmates, not to mention pulaski has 3 times the inmates that saline has.
Saline County always uses the… Continue

Questers is one of the best kept secrets!
All of us Questers like old things. We like to know more about them.
We like people to come and talk and/or demonstrate them to us.
We like to tour museums and old places including cemeteries
like Mt. Holly in Little Rock. The dues are affordable for most
anyone. We meet monthly. When we meet, we also eat. Different
chapters of Questers meet at different times of the day or month.
Most meet during the week. Most have… Continue

It is my recommendation to Mayor Holland and the Benton City Council to proceed with both [road] projects simultaneously -- South Shady Lane at $1.2 million and lower Military Road at $18 million. The city should combine its existing cash balances dedicated for streets/drainage and its monthly sales tax revenues with the federal stimulus funds from Metroplan to pay for both projects. Both projects will be completed without putting the city’s financial well-being at risk.
After these… Continue

I saw this column in yesterday's Courier
and got permission to share it here because it goes along with a pet project of mine to get shoppers to go local
. Brian Bloom, Publisher of The Courier
, explained in his column a unique opportunity the consumer will get this season by going to some Benton and Bryant businesses instead of outside the county.
From the desk… Continue

It's been a while since I wrote a newsletter to everyone, but now that Salineoween has passed and I've had a week to breathe, let's talk about a few things. They aren't all irons in the fire just yet, some of these call for matches or wood or um... iron.
1. There are more than 1200 members
on MySaline now. I'm kind of proud of that. At a given moment, I can let everyone know about an emergency or need. I can rally us together to help, to learn or just to have… Continue
