(Edmunds.com) Taxpayers Pay $24,000 For Each Clunker * Program Stifles Sales

Clunkers: Taxpayers paid $24,000 per car

Auto sales analysts at Edmunds.com say the pricey program resulted in relatively few additional car sales.

NEW YORK (CNNMoney.com) -- A total of 690,000 new vehicles were sold under the Cash for Clunkers program last summer, but only 125,000 of those were vehicles that would not have been sold anyway, according to an analysis released Wednesday by the automotive Web site Edmunds.com.

Still, auto sales contributed heavily… Continue

Testing the spirits...

1 John 4:1-3

Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. This is the spirit of the antichrist, which you have heard is… Continue

Should We Be Concerned That Obama is "Getting A Pass" From the Media?

I think it's obvious that Obama does, indeed, enjoy an unusually lenient press. The media appears to have all but dropped the "watchdog" status they exercised so fanatically with the Bush Administration. There's more to consider than what's stated in the article, though.

To be fair, one must consider that Obama has not yet been in office for a full year, and the media was at an all-time-high frenzy towards the end of the previous administration. One must also consider that the… Continue

Book Review: Spirit, Soul & Body by Andrew Wommack

Andrew Wommack gives a enlightening look at humans as a three-part being:

1. The Body - the physical body as we know it.

2. The Soul - our mind, will, and emotions.

3. The Spirit - the part of us that communicates with our Lord.

Movie Review: Surrogates

Sci-fi feature about the use of robots, a.k.a. "surrogates" by humans to live for them. Stars Bruce Willis.

Some sci-fi violence. I think the subject matter is a bit much for small children.

The societal issue at hand would be laziness and accountability.

Not an award-winner, by any stretch, but generally okay.

Vote YES for the 1/2 Cent Tax Increase for City of Benton Public Safety

First Responders answer our calls daily… it’s time for us to answer theirs.

The City of Benton has grown nearly 30% in the last decade, yet our Police, Fire and 911 Communications Departments have not grown. Calls are up significantly for both police and fire services, and there is a certifi-able need for increased funding to ensure the safety of every citizen.

Police Calls are up 63% and Fire Calls are up… Continue

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Former vice-presidential candidate Sarah Palin got pilloried for suggesting that the government-run health care system set up under the bills in Congress would lead to "death panels." But, now, a video has surfaced showing Obama economics advisor Robert Reich essentially admitting… Continue

Got a Family Member in the Service?

By Shaun Waterman THE WASHINGTON TIMES

Senators diverted $2.6 billion in funds in a defense spending bill to pet projects largely at the expense of accounts that pay for fuel, ammunition and training for U.S. troops, including those fighting wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, according to an analysis.

Among the 778 such projects, known as earmarks, packed into the bill: $25 million for a new World War II museum at the University of New Orleans and $20 million to launch an… Continue

HAPPY ANNIVERSARY TO ME!!!!

Today, my beloved husband, Don and I celebrate our 9th wedding anniversary!

God brought us together on October 18, 1998 and our wedding was October 14, 2000. One of the elders of our church told us that he could feel the presence of God that day. My mom - the look on her face when she saw me in my wedding gown the first time - there are no words. I remember her telling me she had no doubts that this was the will of God. Our girls were the bridesmaids and flower girl. They were… Continue

Movie Review: Shadowheart

One of the ratings we saw on this film was that it was the next best film to "Tombstone." NOT!

By far one of the dumbest, cheesiest films ever made.

Where Did Global Warming Go?

What happened to global warming?

By Paul Hudson

Climate correspondent, BBC News

Average temperatures have not increased for over a decade

This headline may come as a bit of a surprise, so too might that fact that the warmest year recorded globally was not in 2008 or 2007, but in 1998.

But it is true. For the last 11 years we have not observed any increase in global temperatures.

And our climate models did not forecast it, even though… Continue
