We have a fenced-in back yard, but on a recent evening, Don and I were spending some time in the front yard with our little furbabies, Hemi and Rusty.

Rusty (on left - mini-poodle) scampered across the street to do some investigating.  Moments later, a car turned on our street.  Rusty started…

Our beloved cat, Scalley (short for Scalleywag) has been missing since Sunday, Sept. 25th.  He is very friendly to everyone and loves to be petted.  He doesn't wear a collar, but has had all of his shots recently.  We're thinking that someone may have picked him up in Bishop Park on Sunday…

I love it.

Romans 14

1 Accept Christians who are weak in faith, and don't argue with them about what they think is right or wrong. 2 For instance, one person believes it is all right to eat anything. But another believer who has a sensitive conscience will eat only vegetables.…

As a matter of fact, no, you can't.

Romans 6

We are to present our bodies to God as instruments of righteousness.

Micky Cohen, a noted gangster of a past generation, said that after he embraced Christianity, he felt betrayed. No one had explained that God would require a change in his behavior. "There are Christian athletes and Christian businessmen. Why not Christian gangsters?" he reasoned. But when we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior, we are no longer free to…

Little girl on a plane....

LITTLE GIRL ON A PLANE ..An atheist was seated next to a little girl on an airplane and he turned to her and said, "Do you want to talk? Flights go quicker if you strike up a conversation with your fellow passenger." ... The little girl, who had just started to read her book, replied to the total stranger, "What would you want to talk about?" ... " Oh, I don't know," said the atheist. "How about why there is no God, or no Heaven or Hell, or…

Tree-climbing GOATS???

In Morocco, the native Tamri goats are so enticed by the berries of Argan trees that they have become adept at climbing the branches to reach their food. Even stranger still, the goats' droppings contain seed kernels which local farmers then grind into an oil that is used in cooking and…

Head On Collision Follow Up

December 5...I had left the TOYS FOR TOTS Motorcycle Event...Went to the shop to unload a truck. While there I got bone chilling cold. So cold that I decided to park my bike and take my 66 Ford truck home. Called Donna ( my wife) and left...20 min later on Sardis Road while cresting over a hill. A 19yr old was passing cars coming up the other side, illegally, 90mph and hit me head on just as I got to the crest. He left 73ft of skid mark, drove me backwards 4 ft...I had swerved to the ditch.…

Don't Drink the Kool Aid

In last year’s NCAA Basketball tournament ESPN basketball announcer Jay Bilas just kept drinking the Blue Kool Aid.  North Carolina Blue was the first beat down he had to swallow. He didn’t learn anything because he picked Kansas over Virginia Commonwealth which means he hadn’t been watching the tournament games very closely because VCU was obviously something special.   Of course all the sportswriters and coaches and computer programmers drink the Kool Aid all…
