Justice Is Just Another Word In The Dictionary
If you seek justice in Saline County Arkansas, you may find your search fruitless. The political landscape in this small Arkansas county has skeletons in the closet that seemingly reach their slimy tentacles to Washington D.C. Politics have always been for the "not faint of heart" in this sleepy little wide place in the road that sits just minutes from the Capitol of Arkansas. Whispered stories of presidential involvement in murder, drug running and organized crime are spread so matter…

Amazing birthday weekend in St. Louis!!!
Hubby treated me to a wonderful weekend in St. Louis for my birthday. After checking in to our hotel suite, we went on a Riverboat Dinner Cruise aboard the Becky Thatcher - a two-hour cruise down the mighty Mississippi. We dined on Alaskan Pollack and Prime Rib. Food was excellent. It was a clear night and the skyline - including the Gateway Arch - was beautiful.
The second day was jacuzzi and pool time then off to…

I can't help but notice that two agencies in Saline County now have nice luxury soccer mom SUV's and it makes me wonder. When did it become about the toys anyway?

Benton Utilities proposes 10% late fee for businesses
And if you're a business who has ever been late on a payment to Benton Utilities, this actually sounds like relief.
It's not a done deal yet - only proposed - but according to this Fox 16 story, it's a much better deal than Benton's business owners have been getting. The story has…

RIP: Local Teacher, Alice Tudor Glover
I don't have the full story yet, but apparently this beloved local school teacher has died in her home. Investigation is ongoing to find the cause of death.
My condolences to the family, her friends, and her students.

Picture collectors
Is there any orginization or person that collects old pictures in Saline Co. I have some old picture of the 30s 40s and 50s ofpeople I believe to be from Saline county. Myself or none of the surviving family members recognize these people or places. I just want to give them to an organization or person that would like to have them . Some one might recognize some of these people. Thanks

Benton Police Chief Recognized for Rx Takeback Efforts
On Monday, May 21st, Benton Police Chief Kirk Lane awarded the 2012 Marie Interfaith Civic Leadership Award. The ceremony took place at 5:30 PM at the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock.
In 2004, Paul and Irving Spitzberg initiated the Marie Interfaith Civic Leadership Award as an award to honor their mother, the late Marie Spitzberg. Growing up, they saw a positive role model in her values and civic activities in partnership with their…

Long Weekend or Memorial Day Weekend?
Off we go to the lake for a long holiday weekend. It saddens me a bit that most people seem to celebrate being off work rather than the intention of the holiday.
I am guilty. Now that I am older, I am more aware of the purpose - "Memorial Day is a day of remembering the men and women who died while serving in the United States Armed Forces" (Wikipedia). There is little hype - a holiday isn't a holiday until Wal-Mart devotes an entire aisle to celebrate. No gifts being given -…

clocking cars on I-30
I was my way to Magnolia on I30 around 11 Saturday morning when i saw a Benton city patrolman sitting on I 30 clocking cars just out side of the city limits. As I was returning at 11 that night I saw another officer clocking cars out past the Saline river bridge. My question is why are city officers clocking cars and issuing tickets on I-30 instead of patrolling the streets of Benton. Just a thought

The Democrats in Arkansas renominated Mr. Obama by 30,000 votes out of roughly 90,000 ballots give or take a few hundred.
Mr. Obama just barely carried Kentucky against "undecided".
The leftist pundits are claiming the reason for such a poor showing by Mr. Obama is pure and blatent racism.
Hmmm...Democrats calling Democrats racists. That's just desperation talking.
So, assuming that most Republicans would vote against Mr. Obama added to the fact that a very large…

This one is for all candidates, no matter the election outcome.
1 Samuel 9 (THE MESSAGE)
1 There was a man from the tribe of Benjamin named Kish. He was the son of Abiel, grandson of Zeror, great-grandson of Becorath, great-great-grandson of Aphiah - a Benjaminite of stalwart character. 2 He had a son, Saul, a most handsome young man. There was none finer - he literally stood head and shoulders above the crowd!…
