Big winnings!!

BENTON - The Arkansas Scholarship Lottery congratulates Felicia Patterson of Benton (Saline County), who won $100,000 in a Play it Again drawing on a $5 King’s Ransom ticket purchased at

ASL retailer Texaco One Stop in Benton.

Ms. Patterson said she is a winner twice – first, because her daughter is attending UALR as an Arkansas Academic Scholarship recipient, and twice, because of her winnings!

God is the God of Lost Things

Can the EEOC help?

I've seen many discussions on this site regarding the City of Bryant having a hostile work environment.  Some say yes, some say no.  I tend to belive yes.  For those who feel they are working in hostile conditions, can the EEOC help?  Currently no HR director to go to so no resource there.  Would they contact a Council member, the Mayor, the EEOC?  Who is there for the current employees who need some issues addressed?

"God blesses those who are humble, for they will inherit the whole earth." Matthew 5:5 (NLT)

Lord, how can I become content with just who I am, nothing more and nothing less?

Road Construction Update: Lower Military widening

On Tuesday, January 24, 2012 I held a meeting at Benton City Hall with McClelland Engineering, McGeorge Construction Inc., Metroplan, and representatives of the city for the purpose of reviewing alternatives for stabilizing the unsuitable soil on lower Military Road.  McClelland Engineering presented a combination of two techniques the group agreed we would use to deal with…

The circuit clerk’s office has five public work stations available for the public to come in and search court and land records.  The new monitor, which is substantially larger than the regular monitors, makes is easier for people with visual disabilities to read what is on…

Be original.

After seeing where Kenneth Ray's profile and ID were "stolen" by another poster, I couldn't help but think, don't people like that have any sense of originality?

I understand exactly how you felt when that happened, Kenneth, because it happened to me once on another site when someone registered a "LillybelleTN" (notice the extra "L" in the name, not just the "TN" which stands for Tactless Nonsense - LOL).  They did…

Hosea and Gomer - a story of adultery and forgiveness

Today's Truth

The LORD said to me again, 'Go, show your love to a woman loved by someone else, who has been unfaithful to you. In the same way the LORD loves the people of Israel, even though they worship other gods and love to eat the raisin cakes.' So I bought her for six ounces of silver and ten bushels of barley. Then I told…

Test the spirits

1 John 4:1

My dear friends, don't believe everything you hear. Carefully weigh and examine what people tell you. Not everyone who talks about God comes from God. There are a lot of lying preachers loose in the world. (MSG)

This just in, from Fox 16 News:

When Bryant Mayor Jill Dabbs brought the missing funds to light months ago, she asked for the resignation of city Finance Director Gary Hollis who signed the contract with Barnes. The city council later reinstated him.

"The responsibility rests squarely on their shoulders now with that decision and I'm good with that," Bryant Mayor Jill Dabbs told Fox16 when the council voted Hollis back into his…
