TAXES~ Don't know if we should laugh at the joke or cry because reality SUCKS!

At first I thought this was funny...then I realized the awful truth of it.

Be sure to read all the way to the end! Just amazing

Tax his land, Tax his bed, Tax the table at which he's fed.

Tax his tractor, Tax his mule, Teach him taxes Are the rule.

Tax his work, Tax his pay, He works for peanuts anyway!

If a tree falls in the woods with no one around does it make a sound? If someone puts a comment that's not about Benton does anybody read it? Steve Brown has a blog about showing FISAL RESRAINTon here, and I commented that over here we are showing RESRAINT, because none of the things we need fixed are getting fixed. I apparently wrote it to a deaf ear, or a blind eye,(not sure which would apply to a blog comment), anyway the rest of Mr. Brown's blog… Continue

Found the Camera!

I found the camera! It has been in my son's booksack for weeks!

I took pictures today, however, I must wait until one of the boys gets home to show me how to get them from the camera to the computer.

I haven't found my camera yet. But I can still give a review.

I've had the car 49 hours now and the odometer reads exactly 400 miles. (It had 13 to start with.) We had to pick it up in Jackson, Mississippi which is roughly 150… Continue

Admittedly, I am easily amused. I love taking pics of eat up stuff I see in this great state of ours. We call it "Yard Art". I know that there will be others but to lighten my own mood today, I dredged up a few to make me smile.

This is my most recent sighting. I saw this on a trip home. As the owner explained, this is her "Great Wall of China". She ask that if I post this, nobody try to buy any of her treasures as most of them are chipped or cracked. (LOL)

Alas, here it… Continue

Total Of Four Drivers Gone To DARKSIDE!!!!!!!

Rick " Darth Vader" Hendrick, has four good guys on board now to try and make us like Gordon & Johnson. Rick has pulled Jr. to the DARKSIDE, last year, and this year has Mark Martin, Tony Stewart, & Ryan Newman. I know Stewart owns his & Newman's cars, but Tony is runnin' all Hendrick cars & motors. This makes Stewart/Haas more or less a Hendrick OUTPOST. I do whoever wish that Mark could get his much deserved CHAMPIONSHIP this year, I just wished he didn't have to go to the… Continue

A Baby's Hug ~

I received this today and had to share...

We were the only family with children in the restaurant. I sat Erik in a

high chair and noticed everyone was quietly sitting and talking.

Suddenly, Erik squealed with glee and said, 'Hi.' He pounded his fat

baby hands on the high chair tray. His eyes were crinkled in laughter

and his mouth was bared in a toothless grin, as he wriggled and giggled

with merriment.

I looked around and saw the source of his… Continue

Saline River Canoe sign locations ?

Looking for several places to put temporary banner type signs in benton area any thoughts or suggestions would be nice. Also very very cool people would let me do this for no cost or at least the barter system. The question you have to ask yourself is are you VERY VERY COOL? The signs look like this.

Thanks Michael Sacomani

The Uncertainty of Life's Future

Many of you, in person, have asked if the young boy in the photo is my new grand baby. His name is Lucas Paul and he is the joy of my life. Last week on KTHV, Lucas' mom Jaime White was featured in a news film about mothers with heart conditions being pregnant. Yes, we are expecting a new grand daughter in April. However, today Lucas and I have tremendous reason to be sad. Jaime's mother was killed in the car wreck in Cabot. Mrs. Smith had attended a legislative committee meeting on State… Continue

I Love PBJ Sammiches!!

I just woke up 'starvin' like Marvin' and decided to dine on an early morning PBJ sammich. (I'm completely aware that this probably wasn't the best choice since I'm now supposed to be adhering to a diabetic diet, but...) Of course, what comes on the news while I'm eating, but another story on the Salmonella outbreak. I'm sick of all kinds of foods here lately becoming possibly life threatening to eat. DANG, baby formula, dog food, green onions,… Continue

Is anyone else having problems with Benton Utilities?

For the last two months a friend of mine (who lives in an apartment) has gotten a water bill with over 5,000 gal of water used (per month). The apartment manager has checked the apartment for leaks and there are none. He is a single man and is very careful about turning his water off. The water dept double checked the meter reading last month and in just the few hours between readings it showed either close to or over 100 gal used. During this time he was at work so it's not like he was there… Continue

Staying out of trouble

So the other night the wife and I were watching TV when one of those internet matchmaking ads came on. She looks over to me and asks " Are we soulmates?" The warning lights flash and the alarm bells ring. This is the type question gets husbands in deep trouble.

If you have ever been a witness at trial, you have probably had a lawyer tell you to keep your answers short. If a yes or no will work, stop there. Don't elaborate, don't volunteer any addition information. And for you guys… Continue

I just saved alot of money on my textbooks.....

Calling all college students current or future. Did you know that you can actually rent your textbooks? Yes rent them I have found that in most instances cheaper than buying even used. All you need is the isbn# or even the title and you can search for them. Free shipping to you and back and they even provide the box to return them in. Very simple to use and I have received mine and they look to be in better shape than the ones in the bookstore on campus.

Use this… Continue

Friendship Community Care in Bryant, does anyone on here have a child that attends?

I am just curious if anyone has a child that attends. My son is starting there in the morning and so far everyone we have dealt with there has been absolutely wonderful. If you have a child that attends can you tell me your experience good or bad? Thanks
