(I apologize for all the background info, but it really does explain things in the end.)
Tuesday afternoon, with the cabin fever REALLY getting to me, I decided to go drop some gifts off at my friend Sharon's house--she & her husband recently adopted a lil baby boy, Jackson. While there, Sharon & I discussed maybe starting a walking routine as a way of knocking off some pounds. So, of… Continue

I am such a slug. I did absolutley NOTHING productive all day. If I were a real slug I would pour salt on my head and scream in a tiny little high-pitched slug voice as I melt: "Help, Help, not the salt!!!!"
Feed me and water me with your entertaining posts, PLEASE.

Boredom is really hitting me. And this is what I've come to realize:
I'm going to hell, and it's definitely going to be in the proverbial handbasket. I have heard people mistakenly call it a ham basket. I try not to laugh in front of them, but sometimes it slips out. Is it rude to correct them, or more rude to let them go through life uncorrected? Ah well, who knows?
I'm going to hell because I don't send back and forward all those silly e-mails… Continue

I called in to work last night. Sooo.......I may not have a job when I go in tonight. Oh, well....
Katie has a cheer competition in Greenbrier today. We have to be there at 1:00.
Then I have to come home and sleep so I go to work tonight (IF i still have a job.)
I've got to scrounge up something for breakfast. I was supposed to go to the grocery store yesterday but the sleet and rain messed up my days schedule. The weatherpeople kept talking about how all this stuff was… Continue

Roger, my husband, and I had a very special outing today. We took our daughter and sil, Victoria and Robert Powell and my sister Mary Styles out for lunch. Victoria would have you all believe that she does absolutely nothing but work and go to church but today she did do something different and her dad and I are very glad! We had a wonderful time, lots of laughs and catching up on the latest with our teenaged grandchildren which we hardly ever see anymore, of course. It was also nice having my… Continue

As I'm sitting here not doing much work at all, I'm contemplating just how many of you all are doing the same. Then I realized that there is so much traffic here now that it is very likely that you have a boss or co-worker who might be on at the same time. I don't think we have any need to hide our identies from each other. But what if there's a mole or moles on here just ready to turn us in for goofing off at work? May we shouldn't use photos of ourselves as avatars. Here's a great idea...… Continue

Heath Ledger died. Such a tragedy that a young, talented man is gone before realizing his potential. What a waste if this was intentional. Even accidental poisoning and over dosing of prescription drugs... what a waste of this precious human life.
I mourn for his family, his young daughter.
An elderly couple from our county died in Little Rock. Stuck by a car while crossing the street, they both died from this. Imagine the guilt and loneliness had one survived while the other… Continue

I have lived in Benton all my life except for a few month while mu husband was in the military. I love this town and hope to see it flourish. The streets are in pitiful shape! In our neighborhood there is a big gaping mud field where a subdivision was going to be built but water problems have halted it. It is ugly and something needs to be done. There are places like this all over Saline County and I find it embarrassing! Still I am most embarrassed about out streets in the confines of Benton… Continue

It sure would be nice if this whole internet computer age really was magic. That way I could get a magic wand and everything I'd like to be on my page would just appear.
I can get pictures on my page if they're on my computer. But I still don't know how to get them from the camera to the computer. My husband knows how to do all this. I'm pretty sure my son was born knowing how to do all this, too. But will they help me? NO. I've been begging and pleading for them to get the… Continue

My parents 50th anniversary is approaching fast. We had decided we were going to make a slideshow for them but we ended up not being able to get enough pictures together for a very effective slide show so now I have moved onto the idea of a scrapbook.
I am not a "scrapbooker" nor am I creative so I have hit a road block. Any ideas on what to do or put in the scrapbook would be very appreciated!

I watched a video on abcnews.com of Bill Clinton in New Hampshire scouring Senator Obama. President Clinton makes several points and comments but one of those is the fact that now comes Obama running for President of the USA after ONLY serving in the Illinois state senate and now one term in the US senate.
I found it ironic and hypocritical coming from President Clinton who ran in 1992 after ONLY serving as Attorney General, Lt. Governor and Governor of Arkansas.…

Who's brilliant idea was it to make bathroom tissue (a.k.a toilet paper) narrower? "Standard issue TP" used to be 4.5"X4.0. The roll its self was 4.5 inches wide, it had an estethic balance of space on each side while on the dispenser, and more importantly, gave more "real estate" for, well, the business-at-hand so to speak.
Now you've got rolls that are 4.2 and 4.27, those numbers don't even equate to an whole/round number in metric...who decided that extra .23 or .30 inches no longer made… Continue

I'm sure it's been there for longer than I've worked there...however, I noticed yesterday, a sign in the elevator bay on the ground floor of the building in which I work. Sign reads, " Use stairs in case of emergency". I thinking my best bet would be to forgo this suggestion and exit through one of the 4 doors not 50ft away. Ya think?
