We all have little fixes for our daily lives. A way to keep the toothpaste tube tidy or to avoid losing a sock in the dryer. But some folks brainstorm on another level entirely, to fix situations in a category of problem-solving that walks the fine line between ingenuity and redneckery. It is the untrained eye that cannot tell the difference.

Do you own a business? What is it? I have little family here--only my mom and my brother and his family. But I have many friends I consider family. After almost 9 months of unemployment, I plan to return to work the first week of June 2010.

City in Saline County of particular interest & why (ex: _____ because I live/work/have family/friends there.): Benton, I suppose because I currently live there. I've also lived in Alexander and Bryant and enjoy Benton far more.

What would you like to share with other members of this site?: I'm not sure, at this point. I just came upon the site and I'm just here to see what it is all about.

It's Gettin' Closer!!!

I have just a little less than 2wks before I start my new job! I reported to pee in a cup today for my drug screen, and I start orientation on April 6th. It took awhile to jump through all the hoops that the State likes one to jump through, but I finally did it. Even though I had a verbal assurance of a job within a couple hours of walking off my previous job, it's taken a month to cross my "Ts" and dot my "i"s. I certainly hope it has all been worth it. I just woke up 'starvin' like Marvin' and decided to dine on an early morning PBJ sammich. Looks like I won't have to spend an entire 2wks incarcerated this year. If all goes well, the doc hopes to release me tomorrow -- Friday at the latest. I have to admit that this has been one of my better "visits" to SMH, and certainly out-performed my stay at that other institution last year. There were no gown or blanket "Nazis" to deal with here. I've been free to wear what I dang well please. The nursing staff here have provided much better care than they have in the years past.

Well, I had thought I was going to avoid this little dilemma this year; but apparently somebody elso had different plans for me. I guess I've been chosen to spread holiday cheer around Saline Memorial. Hopefully, I'll at least be out of here before Christmas this year. I'd rather visit family at home than in a cramped hospital room.
