Just A Dog
by Richard A. Biby

From time to time, people tell me, lighten up, it's just a dog," or, "that's a lot of money for just a dog."
They don't understand the distance traveled, the time spent, or the costs involved for "just a dog."
Some of my proudest moments have come about with "just a dog."
Many hours have passed and my only company was "just a dog," but I did not once feel slighted.
Some of my saddest moments have been brought about by "just a dog," and in those days of darkness, the gentle touch of "just a dog" gave me comfort and reason to overcome the day.
If you, too, think it's "just a dog," then you will probably understand phrases like "just a friend," "just a sunrise," or "just a promise."
"Just a dog" brings into my life the very essence of friendship, trust, and pure unbridled joy.
"Just a dog" brings out the compassion and patience that makes me a better person.
Because of "just a dog" I will rise early, take long walks and look longingly to the future.
So for me and folks like me, it's not "just a dog" but an embodiment of all the hopes and dreams of the future, the fond memories of the past, and the pure joy of the moment.
"Just a dog" brings out what's good in me and diverts my thoughts away from myself and the worries of the day.
I hope that someday they can understand that it's not "just a dog" but the thing that gives me humanity and keeps me from being "just a human."

"Animals are more than ever a test of our character, of mankind's
capacity for empathy and for decent, honorable conduct and faithful
stewardship. We are called to treat them with kindness, not because
they have rights, power or a claim to equality, but in a sense, because
they don't. They all stand unequal and powerless before us."

There certainly were a "few" comments below the live stream on Halter's site regarding which team Morrison was batting on.

Hmm. Maybe I should have worded that differently, but you heard what I meant. It was cracking me up reading the comments.

I'd be happy to talk with her, I don't know what to say except I'm sorry. It's so hard to go through, and Saline County doesn't have much desire to help.

Well it seems you are an animal lover as well! I take care of my pets and treat them as pretty much family! That little episode by that one doctor just soured me on that clinic. There is a red haired female Dr that I have seen before (I don't know her name) but I liked her. However, just the looks on my kids faces when the other dude just came out and callously told us the bad news totally screwed any loyalty I had. I have never lived a day in my life without at least 1 pet, and I think they all deserve some form of respect. Looks like you do too! Great pictures.
My name is David by the way. Have a good day!
