On Interstate 30, lots of people call the Reynolds Road exit “The Bryant Exit.” Well soon, there’s going to be more than one exit for Bryant. (People who report traffic conditions on the radio, take note!)
A while back, we told you that this was coming. (See related articles below) We’ll have new on- and off-ramps going to the Raymar Road bridge. But it won’t be called the Raymar Road bridge anymore. The name is changed to the Bryant Parkway Bridge, because of the new road that will extend south of it. But so far, it’s just a bridge connected to the frontage road. Bryant is growing fast, so the City Council voted to put $2 million toward these ramps, or about 40% of this project. The Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department will pay the remainder of $4,974,000 total cost.
The Arkansas Highway and Transportation Department will be responsible for installing the ramps. They have had their bid letting process and chosen a contractor. If everything goes well, the project should begin in the Spring and finish in the Summer of 2017. That’s fast! But that’s just the ramps, not Bryant Parkway, which is the city’s responsibility to build. Bryant Parkway will start at Interstate 30 and go south, all the way down to the Saline County Regional Airport.

Shelli, the new Station 5 is to be built on Hwy 5 near Salem Rd. Those of us that live North of Interstate 30 have been waiting a very long time for protection on our side of the freeway.

Good news on new exit for BRYANT!!
Now Shelli, on another matter. Please investigate delay on new Station 5 Fire/Police substation. Received this from Benton mayor on November 9:
“The construction is scheduled to begin in late December or early January and should be completed sometime in late September or early October of 2017. I hope this answers your question.
Sincerely,
David J. Mattingly
