You can expect to see Harvest Foods doing business on Salem Road for about another month, but they are in negotiations for what might happen after that. Some of the owning partners have decided to retire, according to staff, and there are other grocery chains that are interested in buying this location. Sunday, August 19th, 2018, will be the last day for the store to do business as Harvest Foods. Some possible buyers are Edwards Food Giant, which owns seven stores in central and northeast Arkansas, and City Market, which owns six stores throughout Arkansas. It’s difficult to say whether the more than 20 employees will keep their jobs. It depends on the buyer, among other things. We’ll add to this store when there’s more to report.

My wife, Taylor, and I run Salem Pharmacy nextdoor and we are sad to see them go. They have been a staple to the Salem community for as long as I can remember. I love all the staff they all know me and take extra care of me whenever I need help. We are praying for a new store that will rehire all our Harvest Foods friends and continue to serve our community.
Just to stop any rumors that may or maynot be floating around. SALEM PHARMACY IS OPEN FOR BUSINESS. We are NOT closing.

I hate to see them close. We like their products, prices & sales. We live too far out to run into town to go to other stores. It would be nice to have an Ollie’s in that location

Hey sure hope the make a swift switch Because it’s just too darn far from where I live to Benton just for groceries! I literally depend on harvest foods for all my groceries every week!
