Shirley, that was a funny, the thought of prisoners in pink at the courthouse lawn, just lost Harris every vote from every business in the square.

I heard if EJ Harris is elected as Sheriff the new rule will be all prisioners
will be wearing pink and living in tents on the court house lawn. Has anyone else heard this? He sounds like a tough Sheriff to me.

In response to Joe Lee's statement about the sheriff of Miller County saying his jail was a problem. One of my husband's best friends is Bob Dunn, Sheriff of Calhoun County. He said his job would be perfect were it not for the "having do deal with the jail". He, too, has had 309 prisoners who "conned" people into doing things against the rules. Jails must be, by their very nature, problematic for whomever is in charge of them! Most people don't wind up there by singing too loud in the choir!!

As a voter I deserve to hear the complete truth and evidence involved. I am not the candidate therefore I do not have to prove anything. I disapprove of what Milligan said and I am most likely not even voting for him but To be called childish by a candidate for asking questions is rather insulting as a human being, a voter, and a respectful citizen is unacceptable. If you can't take questions and constructive criticism then you don't need to be in politics.

Bag, I'm not insinuating anything but mr Harris has contradicted himself and he has tried to bring his side to the table. He has essentially called the property owner a liar. He made a statement on this site saying the sign was back up at Hwy five and alcoa and yet it is not. I provided quotes and links from the courier regarding the matter and all the evidence has gone against him in this matter. I have made my case and asked my questions. I am asking for the truth and is he calling the property owner a liar. See previous comments and research courier records yourself I have and posted some. As far as dates times etc... Take every post involved in this race and see how statements contradict themselves. I never called Mr Harris a liar or insinuated that at any point. What I did ask was if he was calling the property owner a liar and if the courier was incorrect about the article that he demand an apology and a retraction.

well polkitics are heating up in the sheriffs race. lots of comments. some are critical of sheriff I dont know mr.Harris, so I wont make any comments about him.I do know about sheriff Pennington. and having been in his shoes and being the former sheriff of saline county, there is no one more qualified to assess this mess than me.I been there done that. I do keep up with what goes on in the sheriffs department. Too many people connected with that department owes me for favors from the past. let me say I honestly believe we have the best sheriffs department we have had in many years. the jail is some what in dissaray, but nothing that cant be fixed.a former state police captain a friend of mine is now sheriff in miller county at texarkana. he has the same problems with jail as many other jails in the state of arkansas., pennington is the first sheriff I have supported since Larry davis. its easy to set back and make crucial comments and not know what you are talking about,at least the facts. the facts are pennington is doing a great job for the times we live in. Mr. harris can make all kinds of comments but just remember, this is election year and wont to bees will try to lead you astray with big bold comments to try to get your vote.my question is "why fix somnething that aint broke".do yourself a favor. stick with bruce poennington for sheriff and you wont be disapointed...Joe Lee Richards

You are insinuating that you have heard E.J. Harris lie. What is the exact location, date, and date that you heard him lie. What was the exact lie, and what proof do you have that it was a lie?

What fellow Republicans are saying that EJ Harris lies? I think you guys are carrying this a little to far. Act like adults and go on to another subject if a sign is all you have against EJ then I would say he is doing
quite well. The sign has nothing to do with whether he would make a great sheriff. Spanky, Deman and Kenneth Ray, boys get a life.
