For the office of Sheriff:

Generic:

If asked what the purpose of the office of Sheriff is, what would be your answer?

 

Incumbent:

1)  How many patrol deputies have been added to the Patrol Division in the last 5 years? (head count additions, not replacements)?

2)  What is the departments current policy on handling underage drinking, specifically when patrol units are on the premise?

3)  Because most (not all) juvenile delinquents of today end up being the lawbreaking citizens of tomorrow, what is the current policy on dealing with these delinquents, specifically where bullying is concerned?

 

Challenger:

1)  If elected, will you increase the head count for patrol deputies?  If so, by how many and how soon?

2)  If elected, what directive will you give your deputies when they encounter intoxicated minors?

3)  If elected, what can you do to help control the extreme bullying in our county?

For the candidates of Circuit Clerk: Arkansas law allows for you to set your own staff, through what is described as "at will" employment.  This means that you can non-select or dismiss any employee on your staff at any time and for any reason, as long as that reason is non-discriminatory.  With the understanding that one of you is an incumbent who has already exercised this option, and one of you is a primary challenger, please state your position as to this state law-supported option of being an elected official.

James Ward: What makes you qualified to run the sheriffs offic with no law enforcement experiance?

Bruce Pennington:It was reported that David Pierce abused as many as 54 children. Did you investigate who knew about David Pierce sexual allegations , when did they know, who did they tell, and why he was allowed to continue to hold his position  for year after year. In addition, it was reported that David Pierce was allowed to post bond in your office and allowed to leave the jail by the back door so as to avoid the media. Is this true and if so why?

Both County Clerks: What will you do to publish and make easily avaliable Countyn business such as budgets, meetings of each and every commision, and other county records? Over the internet?

County assesor: In light of the devaluation of real estate values, slower sales, and general lack of credit availiable, especially in relation to raw ,undeveloped land, what will you do to bring valuations back to levels more in line with the reality of todays market? In light of the potential reduction of property tax colletions? Will you increase Alumina minerals to reflect todays value as propants?

County collector: In light of the recession/depression the country has suffered through in the last few years, what is yor opinion on forfiture procedures in place for delinquent taxes?

For Joy Ballard : please explain your party switch from the Green Party to the Republican Party a few months ago. Do you not agree with Green party positions any longer, and if not,  what has changed ? Also please explain your collection methods,with regards to Darla Huey specifically.

For Circut Clerk: Please explain how the taxpayers are best served by retaining /replacing long term civil servents upon change of the elected clerk.

For court of appeals: Please list your qualifications for this office.

For District Judge: Brent Standridge, Please recite your Qualifications for this seat. Do you have any issue which would disqualify you due to a general conflict of interest, such as being married to an official of the court?

For Stephanie Casady: Please explain your relationship to the Office of Saline County Prosecutor. Tell us the normal interaction between the Prosecutors office and a district judge on a day to day basis?
