There are so many forms of domestic abusse. Physical, mental, verbal, emotional and adultery. Adultery isn't alwys thought of as abuse but it is. It's an abuse of trust and touches on so many other areas. And when a person cheats on their spouse, if they have children, they are also cheating on them.

Very little in known about the actual number of men who are in a domestic relationship in which they are abused or treated violently by women. In 100 domestic violence situations approximately 40 cases involve violence by women against men. An estimated 400,000 women per year are abused or treated violently in the United States by their spouse or intimate partner. This means that roughly 300,000 to 400,000 men are treated violently by their wife or girl friend.

Welcome all new members! Finnally we have some more people! This is a very importiant issue facing not jus America but Saline CO. as well Ive been in Law Enforcement 14 years and the 1 ive spent of it in AR ive seen its a bigger problem than people think , I am very impressed with Safe Haven and the training they provide to law enforcement. Not to mention the services they provide..lets see if we can keep the awareness and this group growing!

Erik,
Glad to see this! I have several years of exp. working in the DV field as well as Law Enforcement and have been a victim. I believe enough cannot be done for awareness and education for LW in this field.
