Auditions for the Royal Players production, Stephen Sondheim’s “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum,” will be held Sunday, January 27, 2-6 p.m. by appointment, at the Royal Theatre, 111 South Market Street, Benton, AR 72015. The production will be directed by Bob Bidewell. Producer is Susan Councille Dill.
Those auditioning are asked to prepare 32 bars of music in the style of the show (upbeat, comedic, fun) or from the show itself (Comedy Tonight, Everybody Ought to Have a Maid, etc). Listen to the cast recording for ideas. Please bring sheet music for accompanist. No acapella! Expecting prepared and memorized auditions!
Suggested age to audition is 15/16 and up. There are no roles for children. There are no precast roles. Video auditions will also be accepted. If callbacks are needed, you will be contacted by either text or email.
