It has been a long time since alcohol was served in any non-membership business in Saline County. Even longer since it was purchased in a store. Only in the last year has a Benton restaurant finally obtained the right to serve alcohol through a club/membership program. I wonder how much business has traveled to one county border or another to purchase libations, leaving profit and tax dollars in neighboring counties. I wonder how many of the members here have an interest in
putting those dollars to work for Saline County. There's a poll at the bottom of this post, but it's just for entertainment value.
I'm asking residents of Saline County who are
for making Saline a wet county - that is, able to serve and sell alcohol without a membership program - to contact the Quorum Court and let them know you want it on the ballot.
Write a simple email or letter and make it short and to the point so there won't need to be a lot of reading. Give them your name and address at the bottom of the correspondence so they know you are a Saline resident.
February 18th is the next Quorum Court meeting.
You can
contact the Quorum Court through
email or by using the info below.
Sidenote: It's a lot easier to get big chain restaurants like the Olive Garden to come to town when they can serve alcohol. Saline County Courthouse
