I can't vote for Mr. Milligan, now!
I am dismayed at how ignorant most politicians really are. It puzzles me why each man or woman can't just stand on their own with their own record of accomplishments and list of intentions to influence the voting public. Instead, most rely upon a political machine called "The Party". One can view how votes are taken right down The Party lines in Congress whenever they feel like governing. There are exceptions. There are times when one or two politicians will cross The Party lines...don't be fooled, though...there are also favors given for those crossovers.
The Party is so powerful that independent candidates remain obscure. Why? Because The Party normally has more money than independent candidates. Money buys influence. This became blindingly obvious to me today. I received a postcard in the mail today. That's a little scary in itself. That's another tangent we will explore at another time. Yep! Got me a card from Mr. Milligan.
The Presorted First-Class Mail came from Romulus, Minnesota. Wow. I didn't realize Mr. Milligan had such influence...all the way up there in Minnesota. Hmmm. I doesn't say who paid for the political ad. I thought that was a Federal law. I could easily be mistaken on that, though.
So, I flip the card over and I see a number of pretty people with nice clothes on. The men's hair, or what's left of it, is well groomed. The have nice teeth and are clean shaven. The women have nice blouses and clean hair. I read, "Known by the company he keeps!" Well that's an obvious lifelong rule of thumb. So, I look closer at the pictures and the names to observe the company Mr. Milligan claims to keep. BAM! It hits me. A regretful sight...A plague upon my lovely green eyes! Mike Huckabee and Dennis Milligan staring right at me with that, "I'm screwing you and you don't know it look". So, for that sole reason, for allowing or needing or asking Mr. Huckabee to endorse Mr. Milligan, I will not vote for Mr. Milligan.
I wouldn't claim to keep company with a man who let murderers and rapists out of prison to prey upon others again. But since Mr. Milligan did make that very claim, I can now add him to my list of people best described as "The difference between him and a bag of....is the bag.

I have to agree with you on this one Junior. In my opinion Huckabee was always in it for the money. He got what he was after in his own radio show and a Fox gig.

Well, Junior, I have to hand it to you....Just the other day I didn't think much of your opinions, but today I agree with you. The more I keep hearing about Mr Milligan, the more I think I'll have to vote in the Republican primary May 22 for Myka Bono Sample....

I think, from what I've read, it seems that he's trying to climb the political ladder. He didn't know anything about the clerk's office before throwing his hat in - and certainly isn't doing a good job administering that office. And why would Huckabee waste time concerning himself with a circuit clerk race?

I wish this post alone would serve as an example for some of these bashings that have gone on here on My Saline. I hadn't ever considered voting for Ms Sampke until I started reading he said/she said posts on this site. Truthfully, I haven't ever given much thought to this race at all. I mean, it's not like it's for governor or senate. I have known of Mr. Milligan for years and might have voted for him. After having my eyes opened by all of this mess, Ms Sample has my vote!

DITTO, JR....... If I EVER considered Milligan (which I didn't really)..... an endorsement from Mike Huckabee would cause me to rethink my consideration!!!!
I'm definitely behind Myka Bono Sample!! I could care less if she has an R, D, or I after her name...... I trust her character and that is enough for me! She'll do a good job for Saline County!
