Kitty Smith apparently took $6445. from the concession stand account. Saline County News link.

FYI:
The $6,445 was an estimate made by the accountants during their review and was based on the accountant's assumption that 100% of the inventory was sold at 100% profit. The accountants did not take into account:
- Disposal of stale inventory (cooked items that were unsold by the end of the day)
- Free drinks given to each player of each team after each game

Or items bought for say 87 cents and sold for $1 - not a 100% markup. I suspect the accountant's estimate is wildly high.

I am also wondering if they have taken into account that the officials, score keepers, parks service/maintenance workers, and concession stand volunteers are also allowed to eat and drink for free... that all has to add up, and I know for a fact that there was no record of those.

Yes, that was taken into account. Money is missing, no receipts.

A meeting of the Parks Dept was called for tonight at 6 to diacuss the reinstatement of director Curtis McCormack.

Does Curtis have the receipts?? Why reinstate unless he can produce receipts and proof of where the money is or who it went to? Why did no one speak up? Could no one but ''Kitty" see any of these receipts and checks that didn't get paid out? Was there not any suspicion before any of this happened? Now all of a sudden, there is over $6k missing? Doesn't make any sense to me.
