Arkansas Casino Amendment
Supporters of the measure have until the July 6, 2012 to collect the required 78,133 signatures needed to place an initiated constitutional amendment on the ballot in the state. Dustin McDaniel approved the petition for circulation on November 16, 2012.

I dont like casinos. But I really dont like the idea of allowing them only in certain counties and only certain companies being allowed to run them. I say get rid of them (including the racinos in Hot Springs and West Memphis) or throw open the gates everywhere.

My bad. I copied info from ballotpedia. There were alot of links supporting the infomation and I didn't want all that jibberish in my submission. So, I deleted and retyped to cancel the links. I must have been caught up in current issues when I changed the date.
The petition was approved for circulation by Mr. MeDaniel in 2011, not 2012.
Thanks for pointing out my typo! I am so far ahead of most folks on this site, that I admit that I need to simplify things for some folks. Carry on. You are one sharp tack.

i agree with mark twine we need to be in casino business or out, a couple of families having near or total monopolies doesnt seem right at all... we have the tracks plus everwhere there is legal bingo and lotterys and raffles we might as well haqve the attractions and the jobs that come with casinos.

Heck Yeah! Let's build a casino! They can build one right outside of town. We can use the money to fund the convention center! We can also take this opportunity to make Saline WET! It could potentially put about 200 people to work with pretty decent pay and lots of hours! We can get paid on Friday and double our money on Saturday! Putting thousands of dollars into the local economy! We could then build DOG parks for people who dogs won't walk in the woods! Put extra bleachers at the football field! YYYYYYEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!
