Bryant Public Schools Pre-K program is taking applications for the 2019-20 year. The early childhood program is offered through Arkansas Better Chance for School Success and the Federal Child Care Development Fund. The seats are open to residents of the Bryant School District.
To qualify, students must be four years old by August 1, 2019 and fall within the income guidelines of the programs. For example, a family of five earning less than $5,040.83 per month (gross) can qualify for the Federal Pre-K grant and attend the Pre-K program free. A family of three on the ABCSS program with a family income of less than $3,463.33 per month (gross) can also qualify for the free program.
The Bryant Pre-K program has eight classrooms located on the Bryant Elementary Campus. Each class is staffed with a Pre-K certified teacher who has earned a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. Credentialed paraprofessionals, each with a Child Development Associate, Early Childhood Associate’s Degree, or Bachelor’s Degree, are also part of the team. Three special education teachers, three speech-pathologists and an early childhood paraprofessional complete the teaching staff.
The program is aligned with the district’s kindergarten curriculum, providing direction for teachers as they prepare these young learners for success in kindergarten. Students in Bryant’s Pre-K are well prepared to meet the challenges of elementary school.
The program follows the Bryant Public Schools calendar. Before and after school care is available from 7:00am to 6:00pm. Classes begin on Tuesday, August 13.
Applications are available at bryantschools.org under the Parent Tab. Look for “New Registration.” Applications may also be picked up at the Bryant Elementary Office.
