The National Weather Service in Little Rock released the following statement on Wednesday morning, regarding winter conditions coming through Arkansas this weekend. According to this statement, they have updated the forecast to show only rain chances in Saline County and any snow chances are farther north.
Confidence continues to increase in accumulating snow across northern Arkansas, with a sharp cutoff on the snow amounts further to the south. Precipitation will start as rain on Friday before transitioning over to a wintry mix and then snow across northern Arkansas. Portions of central and southern Arkansas should merely see a cold rain through the entire event with 3-4″ of rain possible. Widespread flooding is not forecast in southern Arkansas but isolated flash flooding could occur.
